ABSTRACT
The methods of evaluation for IS innovation projects are fundamentally different to those for "conventional" IS projects. The underlying innovation process in these projects is more iterative with evaluation an integral component. The development of organization-technology fit is core and evaluation for this purpose can be thought of as a coupling mechanism between use and design and as a tool for continuous learning and improvement. In this paper a framework for the evaluation of IS innovation projects is developed and applied to the case of electronic data capture for pharmaceutical clinical trials.
