ABSTRACT

The development of software systems is difficult and costly because of uncertainty and risks inherent in software engineering. Software informative prototyping is an instrument, which may be used to reduce uncertainty inherent in software systems development process. Nevertheless, since software informative prototyping incurs irreversible and uncertain investments, an evaluation of such a technology seems to be necessary. In this paper, we propose a decision-oriented framework to manage software informative prototyping process based upon option-pricing theory.

Keywords : call option, evaluation, software dimensions, software informative prototyping, stopping time
