ABSTRACT

This paper discusses the assessment strategy used for student group projects in an integrated capstone course for the Information Systems major at a South African university. The course offers students the opportunity to analyse, design and develop systems in a real-world environment. The practical nature of the course combined with the added complexity of group work, necessitates varied and multiples assessment approaches. The assessment strategy applied in this course has been developed and refined over a period of three years and will be presented in this paper.
